 Field Trips
Educational programs that support Illinois state learning standards are provided for children ages Preschool through 5th grade. Field trips provide students with the opportunity to experience science and nature at its finest, exploring the many seasonal wonders of nature at Lincoln Marsh. Naturalists lead classes on exciting, fun filled adventures in hands-on discovery and exploration.

Our programs are designed to be as hands on as possible therefore intended for individual classrooms/small groups.
- The maximum class/group size is 30.
- Programs are 45 minutes to one hour in length and include a variety of activities.

Reservation details:

Decide which of our programs you would like to your group to participate in.
- Choose several dates in the event that your first choice is not available.
- Contact the Lincoln Marsh Office at 630-871-2810 for additional information and reservations.
- Reservation information will be sent to you prior to your visit. Review it carefully and verify all the information. Call us as soon as possible if anything is incorrect or changes (i.e. number of registered students).
- Reservations should be made at least two weeks in advance; earlier registration is appreciated and recommended.
- We have a covered picnic shelter at the Lincoln Marsh, but reservations must be made at the time the program is scheduled.

Our educator will greet you and your group on time and accomplish the goals and/or requirements stated. Our educator will provide a hands-on, fun and educational experience.
Your help is needed to ensure a valuable experience:

Please arrive on time. We may have other programs scheduled, our educators are not able to extend the scheduled program time if you arrive late.
- Please be prepared for the outdoors (dressed appropriately, bug spray, water and sunscreen when necessary).
- Please copy the Participant Tips (129.2KB, PDF) handout included in your confirmation packet for your group prior to the trip so parents and guardians know what to expect.
- Please wear nametags.
- Encourage participation, maintain discipline and assist when requested.
- Bring chaperones (please do not bring siblings) for every 10 students.

Field Trip Program Fees (*unless otherwise noted):

In District #200: *$3.00/participant
- Out of District #200: *$4.50/participant
- Minimum fee per program: $45.00
Payments -- Please note late fee
- Payment is required two weeks prior to your program date. Payments received any later will be subject to a $25 late fee.
- Checks should be made out to the Wheaton Park District and sent to the attention of: Lincoln Marsh Nature Programs or pay by credit card at 630-871-2810.
- Attach a copy of your invoice to your payment and mail checks to:
102 E. Wesley St. Wheaton, IL 60187.
- Payment cannot be accepted the day of the program.
Participant Numbers
Contact us if your numbers have changed. There may be an additional fee for an increase in group size.
Cancelation Policy -- Please note fee
- The last day for a group to cancel without penalty is two weeks prior to the program date.
- Groups canceling with less than two weeks notice will be charged 25% of the total fee.
- Groups canceling with less than 24 hours notice will be charged the full amount.
- If a program must be cancelled due to inclement weather, staff will notify you at the earliest possible time.
Late Arrival Policy
Your educator is available for the time you reserved. If your group is late, the program will still conclude at the scheduled time.
