Summer Camps
Day camps for children, combine activities and exploration that help answer the questions every child has about nature. Listed below are the different camps and themes offered:

Fishing Fever (At Rathje Park Pond)
For children entering 3rd thru 8th grade
This mini camp is designed to teach anglers the basics of safe fishing. Participants learn the proper way to rig a line, bait a hook and cast.

Hand in Hand...Parent/Child Explorers
For children ages 3 to 5 with parent
Parents attend camp with their child and discover the many wonders of nature together. Each day they explore the Lincoln Marsh in search of the many colors and critters that call it home. This camp includes stories, songs and outdoor experiences for parents and children to discover and learn about together.

Wild and Wacky Nature Adventure (At Northside Park)
For children entering 2nd thru 5th grade
Children are invited to Nature Adventure Camp for a wild week of nature adventures. Through cooperative games and hands-on activities, campers investigate insects, animals, life under water, try archery and go canoeing.

Native Ways (At Northside Park)
For children entering 3rd thru 6th grade
Children explore what life was like without shopping centers, video games or computers in this week long camp exploring Native American life. Campers play games, make crafts, hear stories, try archery and canoe to learn the native way of life, culture and history.

Critter Camp
For children age 4-entering kindergarten
A week of discovery and adventure awaits campers as they learn about the animals and habitats found at Lincoln Marsh! Each day camp is filled with adventure, stories, explorations, crafts and visits with animals. There are two different themes to choose from:

• Nature's Neighborhoods
• Animal Friends

Curiosity Camp
For children entering 1st thru 3rd grade
Curiosity camp provides an opportunity for children to explore the Lincoln Marsh first-hand and discover the wonders of the natural world. There are eight different themes to choose from:

• Nature Sleuths
• Those Amazing Animals
• Wetland Explorers
• Bird Brains
• Bugology
• Jurassic Giants
• Groovy Growing
• Nature's Surprise

Camp Wild Ones
For children entering 3rd thru 6th grade
In Camp Wild Ones, participants explore the Lincoln Marsh inside and out. They discover the predators, plant eaters and habitats of our natural area. There are six different themes to choose from:

• Wet and Wild
• Wild Wonders
• Indian Summer
• Teaming with Nature
• Wild Inspirations
• Camper vs. Wild

Camp Cancellation/Relocation
Camps that meet at the Lincoln Marsh Natural Area are held entirely outdoors; please dress appropriately. Inclement weather may cause camps to be relocated. Camps hosted by Lincoln Marsh staff have a minimum and maximum number of openings. The park district reserves the right to cancel camps due to insufficient registration. Camp participants will be notified if a camp is relocated or cancelled.
