Parks & Facilities • Overview


The Wheaton Park District consists of 829 acres of parks, pools and open spaces for recreational use. All properties are cared for and maintained by Park Services.

The following amenities are featured at some of our parks:
• Tot lots include play equipment geared toward smaller children
• Playgrounds separated into two age groups: ages 2-5 and 6-12 yrs.
• Open spaces with grassy expanses, perfect for independent play
• Fields for baseball, softball, football and soccer
• Athletic areas for ice skating, volleyball, tennis, in-line skating and hockey
• Swimming Pools
• Outdoor theatres
• Picnic areas
• Ponds and wetlands, and acres of natural area.

Facilities include a water park, pool, children's zoo, teams course, a community center and golf club. The golf club consists of a course and clubhouse for outings, banquets and dining.
