Barracudas Swim Team
The Wheaton Park District Barracudas Swim Team competes in the West Suburban Swim Conference. Our team is made up of boys and girls from ages 6 to 18 who compete in their own age groups. Swim Team is not a swim lesson program. Therefore, participants must be able to swim laps in deep water comfortably and have a basic knowledge of the components of swim team. The head coach reserves the right to ask that a child be placed in swim lessons (when available) in order to improve his or her skills
before being admitted to the swim team. The swim team is recreational.

Our team is divided into two groups – the “A” team and the “B” team. Both teams practice Monday through Friday. “A” meets are held on Tuesday and Saturday; “B” meets are held Thursday and Saturday. Both teams compete at home and away. The team fee includes coaching staff, team shirt and league fees. A team swimsuit is selected, the cost of which is not included in the fee. The team swimsuit is not mandatory. A mandatory parents/participants meeting will be held on Tues., May 3 at 7 p.m. at the Wheaton Park District Community Center, at which time participants are sized for suits. Parents are required to volunteer to work at least three meets total (home or away) and are required to work at one of the conference meets. Detailed information on all volunteer positions are available at the May 3 meeting.

If you have additional questions, please call Wendy Russell at 630.690.4880.

Registration information will be posted as soon as it is available.
