Used Sports Equipment & Used Bike Sale Events

The Wheaton Park District is combining these two sales into one! Sale proceeds benefit the park district’s Leisureship Program. The program provides fee assistance to qualified residents who are experiencing financial difficulties. Fees are applied to designated park district programs, activities pool passes and fitness center memberships.

Donations Accepted: March 1-May 1, 2013
New and used sports equipment donations may be dropped off at the following Wheaton locations: Community Center, Arrowhead Golf Club, and Central Athletic Center (click on any location for directions).
Items accepted include:
- Soccer balls (size 3, 4 & 5)
- Soccer jerseys
- Shin guards
- Baseball and softball gloves
- Aluminum and wooden bats
- Baseballs and softballs

Let us sell the bike(s) taking up space in your garage! Drop off your new or gently used bike and if sold, 75% of the sale price will be given to the owner in cash and 25% of the sale price will be donated to the Leisureship program. All sized bikes are accepted.
Sellers must pick up their cash between 1-2:30 pm on Saturday, May 18, 2013.

Brief Description
Named BEST 5k/10k in the Midwest by Competitor Magazine in 2011, the Cosley Zoo Run for the Animals is a CARA registered and electronically timed race. Race hosted by the Cosley Foundation to raise funds for the development and renovation of exhibits at Cosley Zoo. Race day registration is available at Memorial Park from 6am to 6:45am. 5k/10k: $40. Zippity Zoo 1/2 mile run (ages 6-12) is $15.

Join WPJC.fm and the Wheaton Park District for the Wheaton Gospel Jazz Festival 2013, on June 29, at Memorial Park in the heart of Wheaton’s historic downtown. We are excited to bring together a wonderful evening of gospel jazz featuring some of the top artists in the industry, dynamic performances and jazz lovers from around the community and beyond.
This year's lineup features world-renowned jazz saxophonist Greg Vail, the hypnotic and soulful voice of Robin Alexis, with a special appearance by Tanya Egler and the Steven Lambert Quintet.
During the festival, sample a variety of wines, enjoy a great cuisine while listening to incredible music and witnessing outstanding performances in a relaxed and beautiful setting.

Mike Williams Cosley Classic Golf Outing

The Mike Williams Cosley Classic Golf Outing is held the first Monday in August and offers a fun-filled day at Arrowhead Golf Course. Golfers are treated to 18 holes of golf with a cart, lunch, dinner, prizes and many valuable gifts. Like the Cosley Foundation's other fundraisers, the golf outing's success depends on the generosity of many sponsors and all proceeds benefit capital projects at Cosley Zoo.
