 Server (Part-time) Location: Arrowhead Golf Club, 26W151 Butterfield Rd., Wheaton, Il 60187 Job Summary: Under general supervision, performs work of moderate difficulty to take orders and serve food and beverages to patrons at tables in dining establishment striving to provide exceptional service. Qualifications: • Service oriented personality. • Must be able to communicate in English and understand information using verbal, written, and listening skills. • Complete on-site training period and pass final exam. • Must obtain and maintain Basset Certification after training. • Valid Illinois driver's license and acceptable driving record. Essential Duties: • Present menus to guests and answer questions about menu items, informing guests of daily specials and making recommendations upon request. • Check guest's identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages. • Knowledgeably suggest wines and spirits that compliment menu selections. • Serve food and/or beverage to guests; prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales tax; collect payment from customers. • Take orders from guests and write guests' food orders on order slip or memorize orders to enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff. • Check with guests to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems. • Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning. • Correctly demonstrate all technical functions of a server (position points, POS, menu descriptions, suggestive selling, etc.) • Dependably attend scheduled work shift in a positive state of mind meeting dress and grooming standards for a professional appearance. • Assist management in maintaining restaurant service standards.
