Location:  Cosley Zoo, 1356 N. Gary Avenue, Wheaton, IL 60187

Job Summary:  This position is responsible for assisting the camp counselor with the organization, instruction, and evaluation of camp programs designed for children age 4-15.  Some instruction is in the classroom, much is engaged learning through hands-on activities involving the animals at Cosley Zoo.  This is a part-time seasonal position.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a high school diploma.
• Animal handling experience a plus.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

Essential Duties:

• Assist with the organization, instruction, and evaluation of all aspects of daily camp activities.
• Supervise program participants.
• Enforce rules and regulations with the participants.
• Participate in planned activities.
• Assure safety for participants at all times.
• Follow, administer, and implement all Wheaton Park District policies.
• Follow, administer, and implement all Cosley Zoo animal handling and emergency protocols.

Salary:
$8.50-9.50 per hour

June 14-August 13, 2010
M-F 8:15am-4:00pm
