Location: Cosley Zoo, 1356 N. Gary Avenue, Wheaton, IL 60187
Job Summary: This position is responsible for the organization, instruction, and evaluation of camp programs designed for age 4-15. Some instruction is in the classroom, much is engaged learning through hands-on activities involving the animals at Cosley Zoo. This is a seasonal summer position.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years college preferred in the field of science education, animal husbandry, or two years experience in outdoor education.
- Animal handling experience a plus.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
Essential Duties:
- Organize, instruct, and evaluate all aspects of daily camp activities.
- Supervise program participants.
- Enforce rules and regulations with the participants.
- Purchase and maintain an inventory of supplies.
- Maintain daily attendance records.
- Participate in planned activities.
- Assure safety for participants at all times.
- Follow, administer, and implement all Wheaton Park District policies.
- Follow, administer, and implement all Cosley Zoo animal handling and emergency protocols.
Salary:
$9 - $10 per hour

June 9-August 13, 2010
M-F 8:00am-4:30pm
