Location: Lincoln Marsh Natural Area, Harrison Ave & Pierce Ave, Wheaton, IL 60187
Job Summary: This position is responsible for the organization and implementation of daily camp activities for children entering first to third grade. This is a part-time, seasonal position.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of coursework in environmental education, natural sciences or related field.
- Knowledge of nature-related activities, crafts, and games recommended.
- Experience working with children in an informal outdoor setting
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- First-aid/CPR certified (willing to train).
Essential Duties:
- Prepare, instruct and evaluate assigned daily nature camp activities for children entering grades 1 – 3.
- Prepare, instruct and assist with other nature camps as needed.
- Supervision of program participants.
- Enforce rules and regulations with participants.
- Assist with daily attendance records.
- Be a participant in planned activities.
- Assure safety of camp participants at all times.
- Must follow, administer and implement Wheaton Park District policies and guidelines.
Salary:
$9.00 - $10.50 per hr
Hours:
20-40 hrs per wk depending on camp schedule
M-F between 8am-4pm (many weeks until 12:30pm)
June 7-August 13, 2009 (with possible opportunity to start earlier to assist with other programs)
