Cosley Zoo Education Intern

Location: Cosley Zoo, 1356 N. Gary Avenue, Wheaton, IL 60187

Job Summary: This position is responsible for the presentation of informal programs offered to Cosley Zoo visitors. This is an unpaid internship.

Qualifications:
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have completed a minimum of one year of course work at an institution of higher learning with an interest in conservation and education.
• Animal handling experience preferred but not required.
• Must have excellent oral communication skills.

Essential Duties:
• Prepare and present interpretative programs to zoo visitors.
• Handle appropriate animals for programs.
• Prepare oral and written reports as requested by supervisor.
• Interact with the public offering education, information, assistance, or control when necessary.
• Follow and implement Cosley Zoo and Wheaton Park District policies and guidelines.
• Assist with various special events.

Salary:
Unpaid internship

Hours:
20 - 40 hours, includes at least one weekend day
Minimum of 3 months (preferably June - August)
Hours and days are flexible
