
Cosley Zoo Education Intern
Location: Cosley Zoo, 1356 N. Gary Avenue, Wheaton, IL 60187
Job Summary: This position is responsible for the presentation of informal programs offered to Cosley Zoo visitors. This is an unpaid internship.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have completed a minimum of one year of course work at an institution of higher learning with an interest in conservation and education.
Animal handling experience preferred but not required.
Must have excellent oral communication skills.
Essential Duties:
Prepare and present interpretative programs to zoo visitors.
Handle appropriate animals for programs.
Prepare oral and written reports as requested by supervisor.
Interact with the public offering education, information, assistance, or control when necessary.
Follow and implement Cosley Zoo and Wheaton Park District policies and guidelines.
Assist with various special events.
Salary:
Unpaid internship
Hours:
20 - 40 hours, includes at least one weekend day
Minimum of 3 months (preferably June - August)
Hours and days are flexible
